We were due to gather together on Friday May 8th 2020 to commemorate the Victory in Europe in 1945. Those activities have had to be cancelled but here are some memories of previous celebrations in Stonehouse.

In April 1945 The Regent Players were fund raising for the Welcome Home Fund. There was to be a Grand Fete and Carnival on July 14th 1945.
This photo is dated 1944 but it looks like people were anticipating victory even if they don’t look very happy! Thanks to the Town Council for this one.

On July 10th 2005, Stonehouse joined in World War II Commemoration Day – celebrating the victory in Europe and Japan.
